USO Foster gets major facelift, amenity boost
USO Camp Foster recently underwent a massive renovation of its 6,200 square foot facility and held a grand re-opening Aug. 30. USO Foster, located on the second floor of building 5710 on Camp Foster, will serve as the sixth center on Okinawa to continue the USO’s mission of keeping service members and their families connected to family, home and country.
The center features multiple lounge areas for patrons to sit back, relax and enjoy a cup of coffee, browse their phones, or take a quick siesta. Another new addition is the 17-seat movie room which includes two state-of-the-art massage chairs.
The kitchen and bistro area provides a space for the staff and volunteers of USO Foster to provide home cooked meals twice weekly while the seven-station gaming room, which includes two virtual reality gaming systems and contemporary gaming chairs, gives patrons a place to escape the daily grind while playing their favorite video game.
Friendly competition can be had at USO Foster with the foosball, air hockey, ping pong and pool tables. Other highlights of USO Foster are six cac-enabled computers, Wi-Fi, snacks and drinks, seven large screen TVs, NFL Game Pass, and upcoming holiday programs. USO Foster also features a second area that can be utilized by units for PME courses, lunches, or by any service member or family member looking for some free space.
