USO Camp Hansen's Midnight Pancakes Program Gives Service Members a Safe, Tasty Way to Start the Weekend
CAMP HANSEN, Okinawa, Japan– If you walk into USO Camp Hansen late on a Friday or Saturday night, chances are you’ll be greeted by the inviting smell of pancakes and sausage, fresh off of the griddle.
As a way to provide service members with a safe, fun and tasty way to kick off their weekend, USO Camp Hansen serves up a homemade breakfast spread every Friday and Saturday evening.
“If you’re thirsty, or you just want to cool down and hang out and just have a good time before you have to head back to the barracks for curfew, it’s definitely an awesome place to come,” said Marine Lance Cpl. Nicholas Gott.
Several other USO centers on the island, including USO Camp Foster and USO Futenma, also host their own Midnight Pancakes Programs and have helped served over 24,719 service members in 2017 alone.
– Joseph Lee and Chad Stewart contributed to this report.
