FAQs
What is the difference between a paid ticket and a kids 10 and under free ticket?
All paid tickets will receive a T-shirt and 100 gram color packet with their registration. If you want your child who is 10 and under to have a T-shirt and color packet you can purchase that on our Eventbrite event site. We will also sell extra color packets the day of the event (U.S. dollars only), but they are first come, first served so we recommend getting your color packet now while supplies last. Unfortunately, we do not offer child size T-shirts. Gomenesai!
What happens if it rains?
You’ll get wet :) The show will go on unless there’s lightning or typhoon warnings. Rain Date is December 2nd.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
This event is open to all SOFA status. If you have a local national friend who wants to attend, they are more than welcome to but it is the responsibility of the SOFA status member to sign them on base and ahdere to the responsibilities of escorting a local national on base. This event is not an open-base event.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There will be plenty of parking on Torri Station near the beach where the race route will begin.
What can/can’t I bring to the event?
OK to bring: Strollers, bikes, scooters, skateboards. Make sure you or your child has proper PPE.
NOT Ok to bring: Puppies, doggies, kittens, turtles, giraffes, lobsters, or animals of any kind. Due to over-heating concerns, we’d rather you leave your four-legged furry friends at home this year. Thanks for understanding. It’s also NOT ok to smoke cigarettes/cigars/vape at this event.
RECOMMENDED: Sunglasses for your eyeballs and a bandana to cover your mouth. Dust masks will be available at the registration table (while supplies last). Both will help runners avoid eye irritation or excessive dust inhalation from powder in the air.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes. We understand TDY’s, deployments, and military life in general happens and we’d be happy to let you give your ticket(s) to a friend. Please email okinawaprograms@uso.org no later than November 16th with the name of the person(s) you are transferring your ticket to.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No.
What is the refund policy?
Unfortunately we are not able to grant refunds for this event. If you aren’t sure if you can attend due to an upcoming TDY, deployment, etc., you can always pay cash the morning of the event starting at 0730. If life happens and you aren’t able to attend, we thank you for your donation and you can pick up your T-shirt(s), & color packet(s) at a later date from our Area Office loacted on Camp Foster, building 5710.
When do I need to register by in order to guarantee I get my T-shirt prior to race day?
Online registrations must be received by October 1st, 2017 in order to guarantee a T-shirt prior to the race. T-shirts will be available for pick-up starting a week before the race at our USO Okinawa Area Office on Camp Foster, building 5710, or on race day when checking in at the registration tent.
Orders placed online AFTER Oct.1st and/or day-of registrants can pick up their T-shirts at the USO Okinawa Area Office on Camp Foster on a date TBD after the race, and this will be communicated by our USO Okinawa Programs Department via email and in the 2017 Color Blast Event located on our USO Okinawa Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/USOOkinawa/
