6th Annual Color Blast 5K Fun Run

This event last took place on Nov 17th, 2018
9:00 AM JST ( 900I)

Come out and get COLOR BLASTED with color at our 6th Annual USO Okinawa Color Blast 5K. Located on beautiful Torii Station you can also take in the breathtaking views of the East China Sea and head down to the Torii Beach to wash off after the event. We look forward to your participation!

What is the difference between a paid ticket and a kids 10 and under free ticket? *In addition to the white USO sunglasses, sweatband, and 100 gram color packet, the first 550 paid registrants will receive a T-shirt. An additional 50 T-shirts are available for purchase at the time of order. Unfortunately, we do not offer child size T-shirts.

What happens if it rains? *You’ll get wet! The show will go on unless there’s lightning or typhoon warnings. Rain Date is December 1st.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? *This event is open to all SOFA status. If you have a local national friend who wants to attend, they are more than welcome to but it is the responsibility of the SOFA status member to sign them on base and adhere to the responsibilities of escorting a local national on base. This event is not an open-base event.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? *There will be plenty of parking on Torri Station near the beach where the race route will begin.

What can/can’t I bring to the event? *OK to bring: Strollers, bikes, scooters, skateboards. Make sure you or your child has proper PPE.

NOT Ok to bring:

  • Puppies, doggies, kittens, turtles, giraffes, lobsters, or animals of any kind. Due to over-heating concerns, we’d rather you leave your four-legged furry friends at home this year. Thanks for understanding. It’s also NOT ok to smoke cigarettes/cigars/vape at this event.

RECOMMENDED: *Sunglasses for your eyeballs (if you don’t want to wear our super cool white ones), and a bandana to cover your mouth. Dust masks will be available at the registration table (while supplies last). Both items will help runners avoid eye irritation or excessive dust inhalation from powder in the air.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? okinawaprograms@uso.org

Is my registration/ticket transferrable? *Yes. We understand TDY’s, deployments, and military life in general happens and we’d be happy to let you give your ticket(s) to a friend. Please email okinawaprograms@uso.org no later than November 14th with the name of the person(s) you are transferring your ticket to.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No.

What is the refund policy? *Unfortunately we are not able to grant refunds for this event. If you aren’t sure if you can attend due to an upcoming TDY, deployment, etc., you should wait until it gets closer to the event to register. If after you register, life happens and you aren’t able to attend, we thank you for your donation and you can pick up your registration packet at a later date from our Area Office located on Camp Foster, building 5710.

When do I need to register by in order to guarantee I get my T-shirt prior to race day? *T-shirts will be available for pick-up starting a week before the race at our USO Okinawa Area Office on Camp Foster, building 5710, or on race day when checking in at the registration tent. We will announce exact dates and times on our Facebook page Facebook.com/USOOkinawa. Also, please note that T-shirts are only guaranteed to the first 550 paid registrations.
