Check-In Saturday 11/16/19 8:00am-9:30am

Come out and get COLOR BLASTED with color at the 7th Annual USO Okinawa Color Blast 5K. Located on beautiful Torii Station you can also take in the breathtaking views of the East China Sea and head down to the Torii Beach to wash off after the event. We look forward to your participation!

What is the difference between a paid ticket and a kids 10 and under free ticket? Runners will receive white USO sunglasses, runners’ bib, 100 gram color packet, and the first 500 paid registrants will each receive T-shirts. Unfortunately, we do not offer child size T-shirts, so the free kid’s tickets do not include shirts. No shirts will be available for purchase.

What happens if it rains? *You’ll get wet! The show will go on unless there’s lightning or typhoon warnings.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? *This event is open to all SOFA status. If you have a local national friend who wants to attend, they are more than welcome to, but it is the responsibility of the SOFA status member to sign them on base and adhere to the responsibilities of escorting a local national on base. This event is not an open-base event. Rain date will be communicated if needed.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? *There will be plenty of parking on Torri Station near the beach where the race route will begin. Carpooling is encouraged as Torii Fest will be held from 12-6 p.m.

What can/can’t I bring to the event? *OK to bring: Strollers, bikes, scooters, skateboards. Make sure you or your child has proper PPE.

NOT Ok to bring:

  • Puppies, doggies, kittens, turtles, giraffes, lobsters, or animals of any kind. Due to over-heating concerns, we’d rather you leave your four-legged furry friends at home this year. Thanks for understanding. It’s also NOT ok to smoke cigarettes/cigars/vape at this event.

RECOMMENDED: *Sunglasses for your eyeballs (if you don’t want to wear our super cool white ones), and a bandana to cover your mouth. Dust masks will be available at the registration table (while supplies last). Both items will help runners avoid eye irritation or excessive dust inhalation from powder in the air.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? okinawaprograms@uso.org Office DSN: 645-2964 Office from the US: 011-81-98-970-2964

Is my registration/ticket transferable? *Yes. We understand TDY’s, deployments, and military life in general happens and we’d be happy to let you give your ticket(s) to a friend. Please email okinawaprograms@uso.org no later than November 14th with the name of the person(s) you are transferring your ticket to.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No.

What is the refund policy? *Unfortunately we are not able to grant refunds for this event. If you aren’t sure if you can attend due to an upcoming TDY, deployment, etc., you should wait until it gets closer to the event to register. If after you register, life happens and you aren’t able to attend, we thank you for your donation and you can pick up your registration packet at a later date from our Area Office located on Camp Foster, building 5710.

When do I need to register by in order to guarantee I get my T-shirt prior to race day? *T-shirts will be available for pick-up on race day starting at 8:00 a.m.! Also, please note that T-shirts are only guaranteed to the first 500 paid registrations.

Following the race Torii Fest occurs from noon to 6pm. This is an open post event (open to all SOFA and Japanese nationals with valid photo ID). Japanese nationals can enter through gate 4 (Toguchi Gate). Entry is free! Great fun for the whole family! Enjoy entertainment, food & craft vendors, a kiddie play area (fee area), & more.
